The dentist and whatnot

The big news of the day: I got three cavities filled. My mouth is still a bit sore, and it hurts to laugh. Which I nevertheless do as I cannot help it.

Work went well today, the day didn't feel long at all. Which was awesome!

I'm looking forward to tonight - I'm hanging out with Andrew & Sarah for awhile. Sarah has been kind enough to be my legal something-or-other that I need in order to sign a bunch of papers for our lawyer about our new house. So that'll be done tonight too, hooray!

If only I knew where Maria was living so I could give her a call...

Busyness and the hectic life

Mom and Dad are visiting Maria in the UK. Hi, mom! Hi, Dad! Hope you're having a blast!

Jeremie was back for last week, which was nice. It was good to see him again. That being said, it was an extremely busy week, what with the Anberlin/Jonezetta concert, visiting friends, packing, going to Calgary for the weekend, and more. He's heading back today and might visit this weekend, but officially he's now a Nothern Albertan. I will be in just under 3 weeks.. moving May 12th. Anyone want to come help us stuff the U-haul?

the Year 3000

JesShe in the year 3000

We had a Year 3000 day as our College & Career closeout. It was amusing, with a dating gameshow, year 3000 trivia, costumes galore, and other such nonsense. So, of course, I took photos of the event. Hilights of the night included Cait's sparkley gold tights, the pie-in-the-face contest, and too-lemoney strawberry (liquorless) daquiris. And Jenna, of course, since she was up (down?) for the weekend.

My Cafepress swag has arrived!

I'm quite excited that my cafepress swag just arrived in the mail. I got some really fun items:

2) Babette Ate Oatmeal. Always a Gilmore Girls classic.
3) Mini-buttons to put on my spiffy new camera bag
4) Belated Christmas cards. I couldn't find any, so I made them! I'll probably get around to writing/sending them this summer, which should be interesting...

In other news, J gets home tonight and I'm stoked! He hasn't been home for a month and I miss him.. hanging out, 'discussing' things, cuddling, and so much more... :)

Moving and the like

First of all: I've had several lovely days since last weekend that I was excited to blog about, but this is honestly the first time in over a week that Blogger has let me sign in. The signin from the homepage doesn't even show up half the time when I click on the link, and when I try to go to a login page Blogger times out. I'm quite sad about that.

In other news...

It's official. We're moving to Grande Prairie.

The signs: - I've started asking for extra boxes when I go shopping - A clandestine visit to a mortgage broker - I now know how to spell mortgage properly - I went grocery shopping in an effort to find food to mix n match what we have (to clear out our freezer) - J is home viewing to find a good place - All our local friends are unimpressed - Our living room is becoming a cardboard haven

We're moving sometime in May, though we haven't really figured out when: it depends on when we get posession of our house. Jeremie is hanging out (slash working) up north and looking for a house (our first, so exciting!) while I kick around home thinking about closing accounts, changing addresses, and packing.

We're both looking forward to the move. J gets a better work environment (same company, different location) and a nice raise, while I get to decorate our first home and have an office at the house. I'll be keeping my job, and will be working from home on a trial basis while my employer and I see how it goes.

The downside is, most obviously, our friends and family that we'll be leaving (or moving further from). We're going to miss everyone we've gotten to know, but don't worry: we'll have a guest room open for anyone who's in town!

Updates on my life

A friend asked me the other night what the difference between a large pizza and a musician is. Apparently a large pizza can feed a family of four - who knew?

Things are going well here, but a bit crazy. J is up north for a couplea weeks for work, and I'm flying up to visit for Easter weekend. I'm looking forward to it, I really miss him! Plus it's his birthday, so we'll have a lot of fun.

We're thinking of moving. J could get a transfer, we could move up north, I could probably keep my job and work from home over the lovely internet. We're considering it, and I'm waiting (not so) patiently while his work decides to get back to us on salary and such. If it's good, we'll go. We made an offer two weeks ago and haven't heard back, so I'm thinking the negotiations will take a long time. I just want to know if we're going or not, so we can plan for it! It's exciting to consider, too. I like change every so often, and now is the perfect time for something new. We might even buy our first home!

I also got my eyes checked on Saturday. Apparently my prescription has changed very little: so I keep the same frames (which I thankfully still enjoy) but get to load up on contacts.

When I get back from my trip, I've got a dentist appointment and 30 flower table arrangements to make that night. I'm having Jill, Beth, and Amy over: should be a grand ol' time. We'll make dinner and make things and chat our heads off. Whee!

And Anberlin is coming up! 2 more weeks!

Jenna is flying down for the weekend of the 13th-14th, so we're really looking forward to hanging out with her again: she's fun to have around.

The weekend after that is a work party in Calgary.. can you say busy? But at least we're hoppin' around here...
